How to create a party ambiance with lighting
When you are planning for an outdoor evening party, one of the first things you have to plan is the lighting. If you don’t have light, you can’t really have a party, so you should first think of functional lighting. This is the kind of light that is used to help people see what they are doing. Next you can think of decorative lighting, or lighting that is just used for ambiance’s sake.
Halogen flood lights
These lights are functional lights that you can hang from trees or from your roof top. There are many ways you can use them to shed light on the garden, lawn, or poolside where you plan to have the party. Instead of shining them directly on the scene, it is better to reflect their light off of objects like trees, bushes, walls, etc. Shining them down on the party scene makes for a harsh, prison-like ambiance that is difficult for people to relax in.
Candle lighting and torches
If you are planning a romantic affair, candles can do the trick of changing the mood for you. Since you can’t really rely on a few candles to change the ambiance, you will want to also use torches, or large oil soaked wicks on poles for extra ambiance. This fire burning in the background of the party place will help set the mood for a romantic, elegant evening.
Outdoor string lights
You can easily create a bright part ambiance with string lights. String lights are so easy to use, even someone without the slightest idea of what they are doing can make something beautiful with them. Outdoor lantern string lights can be used to create a soft, elegant atmosphere, or a more happening party atmosphere depending on the color you get. When you are buying outdoor string lights, you should think about the long run and get led lights.
